Having lived and worked in the Middle East for nearly 20 years, I have always treated wealth management advisers, from any organisation, with an appropriate amount of circumspection.

I had already been ill-advised once and had previously migrated from a managed Pension Portfolio which had consistently dropped in value over the course of a year, to that of a self-invested portfolio after months of researching the investment market.

Hence when I was approached by Andreas’s partner Jay, my only intent was to get a revaluation transfer of an existing company pension, and if an acceptable value, then arrange a transfer into my existing platform and self-invested portfolio.

However, Andreas’s initial assessment, evaluation and proposal was extremely detailed and considered all aspects my circumstances, including detailed rationale and explanations related to the recommendation of investments, type of pension, expat working and retiring overseas earlier than 65 years old, LTA, UK vs Offshore, Tax Jurisdictions, currency holdings, etc, amongst others.

I remained sceptical and continued looking for the ‘catch’ however despite many in-depth Q&A sessions with Andreas, I was almost disappointed at not being able to identify any kind of issues, flaws or downsides with his proposal, despite considering myself canny on most of the common financial investment issues as a result of self-education and my previous pension investment experience.

At present, I am very happy to endorse Andreas as an investment consultant extraordinaire, who does actually act in the client’s best interest with his recommendations, as opposed to many other wealth consultants that tend to prey on expats, that are just looking to push products that make their company or organisation a suitable profit.

If you want clear and unbiased financial investment advice, without prejudice or commitment, then I would highly recommend that an initial consultation is arranged with Andreas, and advise that you should not be afraid to ask probing questions as necessary, as he managed to reassure my extremely sceptical perspective of financial consultants with his in-depth knowledge and passion of his chosen career and pride in ensuring that he is able to provide you with the best financial approach for you and your unique circumstances, without undue pressure to commit or hardselling.
